The United States Senate passed the Defense Authorization Bill, which included three amendments sponsored by Senator Kay Hagan.
According to Hagan’s office, the bill passed through the Senate late last night.
The legislation allocates $66.5 million for North Carolina military projects. The Senate bill also authorizes $680 billion in federal defense spending for 2010.
According to TheHill.com, the Senate will now have to iron out differences with the House. The House’s defense bill contained a down payment for more F-22’s and funding for the Joint Strike Fighter alternative engine.
