AppalCart Breaks Ridership Record During Last Fiscal Year PDF Print

AppalCart Director Christopher Turner announced today that Watauga County’s public transportation authority set a record annual ridership for the fiscal year that ended on June 30.


Turner said 1,203,674 residents took advantage of AppalCart’s services last year.  This is the second time ridership totals have surpassed the one million mark and Turner explained AppalCart experienced a 15 percent increase from last fiscal year.


Door-to-door paratransit van service also reported a 7 percent increase.
