Google’s original construction plans for the Lenoir site have expanded.
The e-business, which is building a large data center of N.C. 18 between Harrisburg Drive and Virginia Street, is making some changes to the original plans. The size of the data center currently under construction is much larger than originally thought, stretching from N.C. 18 along Harrisburg Drive toward Overlook Drive. A second construction area, located above the site and linked by a bridge, is currently being prepped for development. The original plan included an estimation of 210 new jobs. No word on if the expanded plans will bring even more job opportunities.
