A Rock Hill police report alleges that three men attacked a couple at Rock Hill’s River Park early this month. The charge is lynching.

The men, 31-year-old Steve South of Avery, 18-year-old Joshua Kelley of Crossnore and 18-year-old Daymon Pritchard of Newland were held in York County jail on $200,000 bonds.

The report alleges the three men began arguing with the couple, the proceeded to hit and kick the couple. Police got a description of the men’s vehicle and tracked it to a friend’s house on Destiny Lane. After victims identified the attackers, all three men were arrested. The victims were treated for injuries, including bruising, on the scene by local EMS.

The state of North Carolina defines lynching as an act of violence upon another person by a group of two or more and carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
