The Buck Baker Racing School already holds classes at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Darlington Raceway, North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, and Lowe’s Motor Speedway, but the organization is looking at the possibility of adding another track to their repertoire, as officials will attempt to turn a few laps at North Wilkesboro Speedway tomorrow morning.
Marketing Manager for the Buck Baker Racing School, Thomas Heavey, said this will be the first time stock cars have been on the historic track in over 10 years.
Heavey explained officials from the racing school were planning on taking a closer look at the track today, but had to postpone the date until tomorrow.
Heavey said the Buck Baker Racing School will also be a part of a reality television series that is planned to be shot at the track called, “Women, so you think you can race.”
North Wilkesboro Speedway closed in 1996, but was recently leased by Charles Collins.
Heavey said the Baker family no longer owns the Buck Baker Racing School, although Suzie Baker and NASCAR legend Buddy Baker are very involved in the day-to-day operations.
