While state lawmakers continue to work on banning texting while driving, AAA Carolinas is holding a traffic safety event at Lowes Motor Speedway today to show the dangers of texting and talking on the phone while driving.

According to the Associated Press, the organization will be providing a behind-the-wheel live test involving both talking and texting while driving golf carts at a driving range at the racetrack.

A bicyclist who survived an accident caused by a texting driver will also speak today.
