WBTV-Charlotte will hold a digital broadcast test on Thursday to test their digital broadcasting equipment and to allow viewers to test their digital receivers.

During the test, WBTV says they will shut off their analog signal for three five-minute periods.  The CBS affiliate will shut off their analog signal from 7:25 – 7:30 a.m., 12:25 – 12:30 p.m., and 6:25 – 6:30 p.m.

Only people who do not have the proper television receivers will be affected.

The Federal Communications Commission pushed back the digital television transition from February until June 12 to accommodate for viewers who would be left in the dark with their over the air signal televisions.
