North Carolina’s freshman senator, Kay Hagan, had a busy week in Washington and her personal life.
Last weekend, Hagan was in Chapel Hill to attend her daughter’s graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
According to one of the senator’s spokespeople, Hagan delivered a speech on the Senate floor on Thursday expressing her support of the Dodd/Shelby amendment, which she says would restore common sense and transparency to America’s credit card industry.
Hagan was also involved in trying to get more information released about contamination levels of benzene, TCE, and PCE in a Marine Corps base’s water supply in Camp Lejeune.
The senator also joined President Barack Obama in congratulating the University of North Carolina Tar Heels for winning their fifth basketball national championship.
Hagan also welcomed constituents to her D.C. office as part of her Carolina Coffee program on Wednesday morning.
