marlowemug.jpgCourt officials began choosing jury members around 1:30 this afternoon in the trial of a former Caldwell County man who has been accused of circumcising two his sons with a utility knife days after they were born.

According to our Foothills Bureau, 33-year-old Johnny Eric Marlow, who now lives in Dallas, N.C., was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault on a child under 12, first degree kidnapping, and four misdemeanor charges.

The charges stem from incidents that allegedly occurred in 2005 and 2006 while living in Kings Creek in Caldwell County.

Marlow is also an alleged polygamist who fathered 11 children under the age of 13 with two different women.

If convicted, Marlow could face between six months to more than 21 years in prison.
