Hunger Coalition to Hold Food Drive Saturday PDF Print

We reported a few weeks ago about how the Hunger and Health Coalition was running out of food.  The organization’s executive director, Compton Fortuna, said they are holding a food drive on Saturday to help address those needs.

Fortuna said the food drive is called Stamp Out Hunger, and residents are asked to leave a bag of nonperishable food by their mailbox.  Fortuna said the letter carrier will pick up the donation for the Food Pantry at the Hunger and Health Coalition.

If you would rather take food donations to a drop off location, there are several places in Boone to take the non perishable food including:  Rite Aid, Food Lion, Weichert Realty, Pizza Hut, and Mountain First Bank.

Residents can also drop off donations at the Health Coalition’s office off of Bamboo Road.
