The parish will dedicate the gathering space in the Catholic Campus Ministry building in Boone and call it the Griffin Center in honor of a long-time sister.

Sister Ann Thompson Griffin was the first Catholic campus minister at ASU, and the organization is now honoring her by naming the gathering space the Griffin Center.

Griffin served the parish and the campus from 1974 until 1984.

Church officials will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving at 4:00 this afternoon in the CCM building.

Later that evening, guests are invited to a covered dish supper in the CCM center.  After the dinner, the newly named Griffin Center will be blessed and a portrait of Griffin will be unveiled.

Church officials are inviting all High Country residents to the rededication celebration.
