Senator Kay Hagan released a statement today in regard to her views on Earth Day and the environmental future of our state.

Hagan’s visit to Appalachian State University last week seemed to make quite an impression as she said, “I was able to visit Appalachian State University last week where I saw some outstanding progress our North Carolina universities are making in terms of leading the renewable energy economy to help create jobs and save our planet.”

The senator went on to say North Carolina is in a position to be a leader in the green economy.

Hagan said we only have one chance to preserve the Earth’s natural resources and explained, “… we must all work together to keep our planet healthy.”
