Mountain City Clean Sweep Week 2007 kicks off Saturday.
City employees will be working overtime to help residents clean up the town with a city-wide junk pickup beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Trucks will be collecting everything from old appliances to lawnmowers and old cars, anything that could be viewed as offensive junk to your neighborhood. While mercury-containing items like computers and car batteries will not be picked up, everything else will be carted away at no charge. If you can’t get it together by Saturday, get the items curbside by 7 a.m. on your regular pickup day.
