Clay Camp knows people are hurting in Ashe County and is doing something to help.

Camp said, “We’re trying to help some of our lower income families in Ashe County who are really going to be struggling during this very cold winter season we have coming up.  There are going to be a lot of people that are going to be making choices between food, medicine, and heat and it’s not a choice that people should have to make.”

Camp is helping organize a benefit concert called Music Warms the Hearth.

This concert will feature nine local music groups and it will be free.

Residents who are able are urged to donate at the concert.  Half of the proceeds will go to Ashe Really Cares and the other half will be given to BROC.

Camp said both of these agencies work with the families in the community who are presently in crisis, seeking assistance with heating and food costs.

The concert will be held in the Ashe County High School auditorium on Sunday afternoon at 2:00.
