Samaritan’s Purse announced a Sudanese leader is coming to Boone to visit Franklin Graham’s relief organization and thank them for relief efforts.

According to the Associated Press, Samaritan's Purse spent more than $60 million to help the Sudanese recover from a civil war by supporting four hospitals, distributing food, and establishing schools.

Samaritan’s Purse said Salva Kiir Mayardit, who is first vice president of Sudan, plans a visit to Samaritan's Purse in Boone on Wednesday afternoon.

The leader met Monday with President Bush in Washington and Bush announced an airlift of equipment for humanitarian relief in the Darfur region of Sudan where millions of people have been driven from their homes.
