Incumbent U.S. Congresswoman, Virginia Foxx, and democratic candidate, Roy Carter took part in a question and answer session at Ashe County Middle School on Friday.

During the hour-and-a-half debate, the candidates answered questions on a variety of topics from immigration, to the war in Iraq, to education.

The debate was a bit of a homecoming for Carter, who was a former teacher at Ashe County Middle.

The students asked the questions, and the questions were directed to the students.  This event was not open to the public and there were just a few parents and media personnel on hand.
