With less than a week of early voting under their belts, the Boards of Elections in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties have reported that over 4,500 voters have already cast their ballots by Monday afternoon.

The majority of them are from Watauga County, as the Director of the Watauga County Board of Elections, Jane Hodges reported that well over 3,000 Watauga County residents have already voted.

There’s a long way to go to get all registered voters in the area to vote, as there are about 82,000 registered voters in Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties, but there are still two weeks left until the November 4th deadline.
