The public gets its chance to consider and discuss the construction of the new Watauga High School tonight.

An informational meeting in the auditorium of the current high school will allow the public to express concerns and view the plans. Jennifer Sisak, representing architecture firm sfL+a (Pronounced S-F-L-A) will be present to explain the site plan, as will commissioners and the board of education members. The meeting is from 6-9 p.m. After tonight, the next step is the May 31 public hearing. If approved, site preparation should commence around August. Construction is estimated to take two years. The school is projected to open for classes in the fall of 2010.
