Amber alerts to appear on lottery terminals PDF Print

When a child is abducted, the first few hours are the most critical, according to Bryan Beatty of the N.C. Department of Crime Control and Public Safety.

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has a new way to deliver statewide alerts on missing children to as many people as possible, almost as soon as the alert is issued. Starting tomorrow, AMBER alert messages will appear on lottery terminals across North Carolina. AMBER alerts, notices that a child 17 or younger has been abducted or is in serious danger, will scroll across the terminal screen where they can be seen by every customer. Clerks can print details to give to customers so everyone can be on the lookout.
