It was an order for arrest that took officers of the Avery Sheriff’s Office to 61 Everett Clark Rd., Newland August 15th where they arrested 41 year old James B. Smith on the outstanding warrant for Failure To Appear.  But executing a search warrant at the residence, drugs were reportedly found, and Smith was further charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture and Sell Drugs, Possession of Methamphetamine and a host of other charges.  The Sheriff’s release says that Smith is being held in the Avery County Jail on an $80,000.00 secured bond.
