Three vehicles were involved—two injured—in a crash just after 4 yesterday afternoon in Deep Gap as one of the vehicles flipped over trying to exit US 421.  Trooper Townsend of the State Patrol said that Larry Pearce of Fleetwood was turning from 421 onto the short access road just south of the Deep Gap Fire Department when his 2007 Subaru hatchback clipped the 2005 Toyota that Kevin Hagan of Boomer was driving south on 421.  The first impact caused Pearce’s Subaru to flip, rolling onto its top as it skidded into the Geo Tracker of John Secrest of Millers Creek at the intersection.  Townsend said that Kevin Hagan and Larry Pearce suffered slight injuries in the crash, but both refused transport from Watauga Medics, and that he cited Pearce with Failure to Yield in the crash that caused extensive damage especially to the Subaru.
