Four men, three from the High Country, one from the Piedmont, have been arrested and charged by Boone Police with Misdemeanor Solicitation of Prostitution. These arrests came as a result of a sting operation targeting the commercial sex trade utilizing local hotels. On June 12th, Boone Police
utilized online advertisements offering prostitution services, and in response to these advertisements, the four men were arrested after meeting an undercover police officer and agreeing to pay money in exchange for sexual services. Arrested and charged are:
William Lowell Cable, 42, of Sugar Grove
Tamer Said Salem,40, of Winston-Salem
Benjamin James Bell Wieland, 27,of Fleetwood
Todd Vincent Williams,47, of Boone
Each of the arrestees was assigned a $750 secured bond pending an August 1st appearance in Watauga County District Court. The Boone Police Department was assisted by the Lenoir Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation during this operation.
