On June 9, 2014, a search warrant was executed by Narcotics Detectives and Patrol Deputies from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office on a residence at  232 Bluebird Lane, Boone.  The search was obtained after drug paraphernalia was located in the residence during the execution of an arrest warrant on Joshua Edward Baird.  During the course of the search, Detectives located two mason jars with a clear liquid which was identified as methamphetamine oil.  The chemical process to create “meth oil” is the final stage in the manufacturing process before the oil is synthesized into methamphetamine.  Joshua Edward Baird, 27, of 157 Carriage Street, Mountain City, TN, was charged with Manufacture Methamphetamine.  Baird was given no bond due to his history of Methamphetamine offenses.  Prior to his recent arrest on June 9th, 2014, Baird was out on bond for four separate Methamphetamine offenses.

  • On January 5, 2013, Baird was charged with 2 counts of Conspiracy to Manufacture and 2 counts of Possess/Distribute Meth Precursors.
  • On September 23, 2013, Baird was charged with Attempt to Exceed Pseudoephedrine Limits.
  • On January 18, 2014, Baird was charged with Possession of Pseudoephedrine with a Prior Meth Conviction.
  • March 14, 2014, Baird was charged with 3 counts of Conspiracy to Possess Meth Precursors. Baird is scheduled for court July 30th.
