Authorities in Caldwell County and at Lenoir Police are looking at a suspect tackled by employees at a Morganton restaurant turning the tables on the man now accused of robbing the business at gunpoint. When Morganton Public Safety officers arrived at Fatz restaurant, employees had the suspect on the ground ready to be handcuffed. Public safety officers say there were seven workers still at the restaurant Monday night when the robbery happened at closing time. Employees said things started in the parking lot when the man confronted four of the employees and forced them back in the business at gunpoint. But discovering the gun was not realit appeared to be an airsoft gun, according to policethe victims turned to the tables on Scottie Hill. Now Scott James Hill, 34, of Lenoir, is charged with attempted armed robbery and second degree kidnapping. In court, it got worse for Hill as the judge learned he had been convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping in Catawba County, and she raised his bond from 200-thousand to a half million dollars. And now, investigators in Morganton say Hickory, Lenoir, and Caldwell county have contacted them about similar unsolved armed robberies this spring.
