An ATV driver was seriously hurt—airlifted—after a crash yesterday afternoon in Boone.  Trooper Searcy of the State Patrol said the man had taken the off-road vehicle out on Poplar Grove Road from where he was working on a maintenance contract at the Cottages of Boone property, and after crossing back from a store on NC 105, the 31-year old Boone man struck something and flipped the ATV, landing on Fallview Lane.  Watauga Medics rushed the man to Watauga Medical Center, and he was airlifted by WINGS Air Rescue to the Johnson City Medical Center for treatment of a serious back injury.  Searcy was still investigating the crash late yesterday.
