Vikings in Final Four against Winston Salem Prep PDF Print

For the first time in school history, the Avery Viking Basketball team is in the Final Four of the NCHSAA 1A State Playoffs. The Vikings are riding a 20-game winning streak, coming off of a 40-39 victory over the Allegheny Trojans in the Regional Semifinal on Wednesday, March 5. The Vikings will travel back to Fleming Gym on the campus of UNC-Greensboro for the NCHSAA Western Regional Final on Saturday, March 8, to face off with the Winston Salem Prep Phoenix. The Phoenix are back-to-back defending State Champions and are looking to continue their legacy; The Vikings, under the direction of Head Coach Scott Polsgrove, look to stop the Phoenix and move to the first State Championship game in program history.
