On Sunday morning,  February 23rd, the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office received reports of Breaking, Entering and Larceny from two different churches in the Deal Mill Road area of Caldwell County.  The break ins were at Center Grove Baptist Church of 3176 Deal Mill Rd, Hudson and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of 3555 Christie Road, Hudson.  Church members arriving for services found that their churches had been entered and money along with property had been stolen.  Deputies and investigators processed the crime scenes and began to develop a suspect.  Investigators worked into the following morning and executed search warrants at two different locations.  Investigators were able to recover property belonging to both churches and arrested the suspect.
Arrested was William McKinley Lefever, 34, of Hudson.  Lefever was charged with two counts of Breaking and Entering a place of Worship and two counts of larceny and is being held in the Caldwell County Detention Center under a $50,000.00 secured bond.
