There was some fire and extensive smoke damage in a late afternoon fire at a New River Hills shop.  The call came in for Boone Fire at 4:12 to 402 New River Hills, where smoke was pouring from the lowest level of the building, fire found in the basement when firefighters made entry.  Boone Fire officials said the structure was being used for a wood shop for the owner of Appalachian TV service, where he did specialty projects, and that the fire started in a dust collection system. Boone Fire had the blaze out in short order, but there was a lot of cleanup of the fire and smoke damage to the structure.
