A Boone eyesore could finally be nearing destruction—and the property resurrected, that as Attorney Jim Deal, representing Stonegate Developers, asked the Boone Town Council last night to hold a special public hearing on the property that entails the old Scottish Inn site into what Stonegate Developers partner Jeffrey Wakeman said the project would be a mixed use with retail and multi-family, possibly a restaurant and an exercise facility, “What it will entail is the opening up the stream and actually making it more of a park in the back on the side of Faculty Street.”
The council voted to hold the March 3rd public hearing on a Conditional District Zone which, if approved, could allow work to begin before summer on the Blowing Rock Road property.
