3 Granite Falls buildings burn: Cause undetermined PDF Print
Thursday, 03 January 2008 21:45
The State Bureau of Investigations has joined local authorities in investigating a blaze that destroyed three businesses in Granite Falls early yesterday.
The fire started just after midnight Wednesday. Firefighters were on the scene much of yesterday stifling hot spots and trying to determine what happened. Buildings involved included Northside Superette, Fred’s Tire and Northside Laundry. The businesses were located at the corner of U.S. 321-A and Pinewood Road. Officials reported heavy smoke from Fred’s Tire upon the arrival of firefighters. Winds caused the fire to spread from the tire store to Northside Laundry, then to the Superette and an apartment. No one was injured in the blaze, and officials are still investigating to determine a cause.
