Charges have yet to be filed in a Saturday shooting in Wilkesboro that left one man hospitalized.

According to Detective Steve Cabe, 29-year-old Rufugio Garcia is still recovering at Baptist Hospital from a gunshot wound to his left side.

The shooting happened just before eleven p.m. Saturday when 28-year-old Sergio Limon is alleged to have shot Garcia after an argument over Limon’s sister. The incident happened at Limon’s Poplar Grove residence in Wilkesboro.

Limon is alleged to have used a medium caliber weapon.

Due to translation issues, deputies have yet to interview either man involved. Cabe hopes once Garcia is released an interview can occur.
