Foscoe Christian Church was destroyed in a late night fire last night, causing firemen to spend hours in the sub zero cold and 50-plus mile per hour winds.  Foscoe Fire, Boone Fire and Watauga Medics and rescue were all called out just after 11:30 last night to the church at Camp Rainbow Road off NC 105, firemen battling the blaze and the sub zero weather until after 3 this morning.  Folks at Foscoe Country Corner just across the road reporting that the last firemen were leaving about 5 this morning, saying there is little left above the basement. Firemen were called back out for a flare up about 7:30, and fire officials on the scene blamed the fire on a faulty furnace on the back of the building.
