An 11-year old boy was airlifted after being injured in a sledding accident this afternoon. The call came in just before 2 this afternoon at a Lams Way residence in Vilas.  Arriving Cove Creek first responders found that the boy had struck an object in sledding at the residence, and was having breathing problems. Watauga Medics assessed the boy’s condition and requested WINGS Air Rescue, who landed in a ball field behind the old Cove Creek Fire Department to transport the boy to the Johnson City Medical Center.
