A Boone man was badly injured as he was thrown from his overturning Subaru just after dark last night.  The crash occurred on Bamboo Road between Mutton Crossing and Wilson Ridge Road at about 6:15 when 55-year old Roger Brown lost control of his ’99 Subaru Forester, running off of the road as he traveled toward US 421. The vehicle struck the embankment, rolled several times, the force ejecting Brown who was found near the vehicle by first arriving Boone Firemen. The investigating trooper said that Brown had no memory of the sequence that led to the crash as he was interviewed while being treated at Watauga Medical Center for head and other injuries.  The Rachael Court man was cited for Careless and Reckless Driving and not wearing his seatbelt in the crash.
