The expansion of a McDowell County business looks to bring more jobs and a rise in pay to the area. Governor Pat McCrory and North Carolina Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced on Monday that Key Gas Components, Incorporated will be expanding its manufacturing operation in Marion. The company plans to create 37 new jobs and invest more than $2.2 million over the next three years in Marion.

Key Gas Components is a closely held, family-owned and operated manufacturing and engineering services company operating a 35,000 sq. ft. facility in Marion. Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $30,606 plus benefits. The McDowell County average annual wage is $30,349. The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $110,000.
