Corrie Freeman is WATA's Teacher of the Month PDF Print

Boone's heritage radio station AM-1450 WATA and Clark Tire New Market Center are proud to present the November Teacher of the Month award to Hardin Park's Corrie Freeman.


Freeman was presented with the award Tuesday. She was also presented with a Clark Tire gift card and a free pizza party for her class.


A graduate of Appalachian State University, Freeman has taught at Hardin Park Elementary in Boone since 1998. She is currently teaching 4th grade.


Freeman was anonymously nominated for the award.


"Corrie hasn't missed a day of school despite fighting cancer," read the nomination. "She is extremely selfless and proud of her fourth graders. Corrie is always giving back to her students. She is just awesome."


Watauga County teachers can be nominated for the Teacher of the Month award by submitting an entry form at Clark Tire New Market. Entry forms are available at the location or can be printed out at
