There were some injuries—and a traffic mess for several hours—after a crash last night on the Linville Falls Highway near Crossnore. Quite a few Avery County resources including Medics, fire  and rescue were dispatched to the scene of the 9pm crash, but a number of them were cancelled as the extent of injuries in the crash were found not as severe as first thought.  But what was also launched was a search for a man said to have been involved in the crash, a suspect vehicle and description of the man given out to area law enforcement.  The state patrol took the lead in the investigation when they arrived at the scene, but Avery authorities report that no one had been apprehended in the crash overnight.  Traffic was tied up in the area for at least a couple of hours while the accident was sorted out.
