Trio Charged with Drug Counts PDF Print

A trio of Foothills area residents were arrested in Avery County late in the evening on November 20th. Officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop on Sugar Mountain Rd #1, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a marijuana pipe, a prescription pill that the occupants didn’t have a prescription for and two handguns in the trunk of the car.  As a result of the traffic stop Officers charged eighteen year old Allyson Holland of Lenoir with Possession of a Schedule I drug and Possession of drug paraphernalia.  Twenty two year old Steve Patton of Lenoir was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of marijuana and Possession of drug Paraphernalia, and twenty four year old Jessica Clemmer of Drexel was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office have since charged Patton with Possession of a Stolen Firearm.  Other charges are expected pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
