Sheriff Kevin Frye released the following statement:
“We have been extremely busy this year, and I am very proud of my staff for the work they have done. We could not have accomplished what we have without the dedicated and professional personnel we have. They come to work each day with the service of Avery County citizens foremost in their minds. We have been dispatched to nearly one call per hour, 24 hours per day, every single day of the year, yet we have still put forth the effort to offer some new programs especially for our youth and elderly, and increased our productivity. I am especially proud of the work we have done on drug enforcement and increased patrols. I look forward to providing even better services to the citizens of Avery County during the next year. We will continue to strive to become better in our service to the people during this upcoming year.”
