Thursday, 27 December 2007 20:54

The following is a statement written by State Representative Phillip Frye regarding an alleged  Christmas Eve drunk driving incident. The statement was released to the press yesterday.

"I am extremely sorry this event happened. It was the first time in my life, and I assure you it will be the last. I take complete responsibility for this incident, and will plead guilty, and abide by the ruling of the court. I apologize to the people of the 84th district, ask your forgiveness, and ask for your prayers for me and my family."

The 84th district consists of Mitchell and Avery counties, as well as parts of Caldwell and Yancey counties. Frye has served in the General Assembly since 2002. Last election he ran unopposed.
