Fire totaled the home of a Deep Gap area family late yesterday afternoon, with a number of area fire departments battling the fire as the cold and wind rushed through.  Deep Gap was dispatched just after 5:30 to the home at 3145 Wildcat Road, finding flames coming from the modified mobile home and added structures. Boone, Stewart Simmons and Todd firemen were called as darkness fell, but in spite of saving the outer structure, Deep Gap fire officials say the home was totaled.  They said that it appeared that the fire started in the flue area and spread overhead to other areas.  The Red Cross was called in to aid the C.E. Greene family with some three adults and several children losing most everything in the fire. Deep Gap units also stayed out on the scene all night watching for flare-ups in the cold and wind.
