Bitter Blast Headed to High Country PDF Print

Temperatures across the High Country have dropped all day today, first under sunny skies, then as a band of moisture approached from the west as the leading edge of a cold blast of air crossing the Appalachian Mountains.  But as the frontal system butted up against the higher elevations, a lot of its moisture was drained from the system, and the impact locally is expected to be more cold and less rain and/or snow. But tomorrow will bring us lows—maybe record lows in the teens in some areas, and highs maybe not getting above freezing in higher elevations.  Fortunately, the blast is a quick one, with temps returning to more normal ranges by the weekend.
