Santa to Hit High Country after 10 p.m. PDF Print
Monday, 24 December 2007 05:05

Santa Clause himself arrives in the High Country tonight.

Officers at NORAD, North American Aerospace Defense Council, are tracking his movements right now. Officer Joaquin Juatai says NORAD’s out enforce tonight.

“We actually have an all-volunteer force of Santa trackers, and at any given time we have about a hundred people answering phones and e-mails.”

It’s been a long day for the Santa trackers- and it’s not nearly over.

“We set up the NORAD Santa Tracking Operation Center at 2:00 this morning, and we’ll be tracking Santa for 24 hours until 2:00 Christmas morning.”

Juatai says it’s hard to pinpoint the exact time Clause will arrive in the High Country- but NORAD does have an estimate.

“Between 10:00 and midnight, so it’s really important that kids are asleep by ten.”

To find out Clause’s exact location, call 1-877-HI-NORAD or visit www.NORADSANTA.ORG.  Lots of calls are expected, so be patient- and have a happy holiday, Juatai says.
