A couple of injury accident this afternoon, two transported to Watauga Medical Center.  The first was at just about noon on NC 105 approaching the Highland Avenue intersection.  A motorcyclist slammed into an SUV as both were in the south-bound lane, the cyclist suffering a leg and a hand injury for which he was rushed to Watauga Medical Center.  Boone Police were still working on that report.
The second was at about 12:30 on US 421 in Zionville.  In that, a 60-year old Mountain City woman blacked out, according to trooper Searcy, and her car ran off the road to the right, taking out several mailboxes before running back across the road slamming into a guardrail before flipping over, landing on its top out in the highway.  Searcy said the woman suffered only minor injuries from the crash, but was at the hospital more for evaluation to determine what caused her to black out.  He said he cited the woman for Careless & Reckless driving as a standard charge under the circumstance.
