North Carolina’s unemployment rate dropped for the
second consecutive month to 4.7 percent in November.
The state Employment
Security Commission released statistics Friday that said the labor force
increased in November by 3,081. It’s good news according to Commission Chairman
Harry Payne Junior. The unemployment rate hasn’t been this low since March when
it was at 4.5 percent. Last year in November, the unemployment rate was 4.9
percent. The national unemployment rate matches ours at 4.7 percent.
