Caldwell County receives three federal grants PDF Print
Thursday, 20 December 2007 21:58

U.S. Representative Patrick McHenry announced Caldwell County will receive three federal grants.

Over $300,000 has been allocated for the Caldwell County Interoperability project, which will help the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office upgrade its communications systems.

Almost $100,000 has been allocated for the Appalachian State University Center at the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Hudson. The Center offers training and support for local teachers and the funding will go to further enhance the education resources available to local residents.

Additionally, over $130,000 goes to law enforcement and fire departments in North Carolina’s 10th District- including over $30,000 to Lenoir Police Department for emergency preparedness training.
