Six Charged After Crash Into House PDF Print

Last Friday, just after 10:30 PM, Boone Police, Boone Fire and Watauga Medics responded to Forest Hills Drive for a motor vehicle accident, finding that a motor vehicle had struck a residence injuring an occupant of the residence.  The investigation revealed that Wilbert Emanuel Hendricks Jr., 31 years-of-age, of Jefferson Highway, Boone, NC, was operating the vehicle when he lost control and struck the residence.  As a result of the incident, a number of people have been charged, including driver Wilbert Emanuel Hendricks, Jr., 31 years-of-age, of Jefferson Road, Boone.  He’s charged with Driving While Impaired, Reckless Driving to Endanger, Felony Injury by Vehicle, Damage to Property, Open Container of an Alcoholic Beverage, Failure to Maintain Lane Control, and Failing to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident with $50,000 secured bond.

 

Others charged are:

 

  • Coral Raine Parker, 20 years-of-age, of Forest Hills Drive, Boone, charged with Resist, Obstruct, or Delaying a Police Officer with $750 secured bond.

 

  • Jeremy Dwayne Scott, 21, of Poplar Grove Road, Boone, charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident along with an Order for Arrest – Failure to Appear.  His bond was set at $2,250.

 

  • Dillan Emmett Scott, 17, also of Poplar Grove Road, Boone, charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident.  His bond, $750 secured.

 

  • Tegan Nicole Ray, 20, of Margo Road, Boone, charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident, set $750 secured bond.

 

  • Laurie Lee Shook, 41 years-of-age, listing a Forest Hills Drive, Boone, address, charged with Resist, Obstruct, or Delaying a Police Officer.  She was released on a written promise to appear

 

All were set November 19th court dates. Police say the damage estimate as a result of this accident was $105,000,  Boone Planning and Inspections officials called in due to the significant structural damage caused to the home.  In addition to the home that was struck, two other vehicles were also damaged.
