Cove Creek and Boone Fire Departments were called to a structure fire last night at a residence occupied by a disabled person.  The fire call came in just after 9pm at 134 Hidden Trail where the caller reported that one person was still inside after a chimney fire appeared to have escaped the flue, possibly setting the structure on fire.  In spite of being warned to not return, the caller reportedly went back inside to try to get the person out as fire units were dispatched.  First arriving Cove Creek units found smoke visible from outside the structure, but they managed to remove the occupants safely while determining where the fire was burning. Cove Creek command called in the fire under control within about 15 minutes of their arrival.
