Wednesday, 19 December 2007 21:48
A Wilkes woman was hospitalized after a fight over a telephone.
Deputies were called to the home of Gregory Cardwell Tuesday and found his mother-in-law, Karen Cleary with bruising on her neck. Cleary’s daughter, Angela, alleged that Cardwell grabbed Cleary by the throat, dragging her from the kitchen to the living room of the house. Cardwell is also alleged to have threatened the women with violence if they called the police. Cardwell has been charged with assault and communicating threats. Cleary was taken to Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
