Over 3,000 suspicious driver’s licenses in NC PDF Print
Wednesday, 19 December 2007 21:46
The state Division of Motor Vehicles has identified 3,581 suspicious active driver’s licenses.
The licenses contain incorrect Social Security information. A state audit earlier this year found 27,000 suspicious driver’s licenses. Many of those licenses identified in the March audit were either license holders who were deceased and had not been reported, licenses used for undercover law enforcement work or licenses with only slight information inconsistencies. The DMV plans to send a letter to drivers with questionable licenses to verify their authenticity, the Associated Press reports.
